Editorial Board への誘い

出張で英国を離れています。

飛行機を降りたら以前投稿や査読をした雑誌からメールが来ていました。

Dear Dr. ◯◯, 

◯◯◯, announces Editorial Board membership opportunities to eminent scientists in all core areas of ◯◯. Important information such as Aims and Scope, indexing agencies, list of Editorial Board Members and Instructions for Authors may be viewed at ◯◯. In view of your past contribution to the Journal, we would like to nominate you as an Editorial Board member of the Journal.  

この雑誌はいわれるbig journalではありませんが、継続的に関わっているとこんなこともあるんですね。

以前も書きましたが査読は基本的に無償の業務で、Editorial Boardになっても同様です。また、Editorial Boardには下記の責務が有りました。

The responsibilities of Editorial Advisory Board members include:

1.  Submission or solicitation from your colleagues of at least one article for the journal in 2017 and at least one article annually thereafter.

2.  Contribution and/or solicitation of Guest Edited thematic issues to the journal in a hot area (at least one thematic issue during the next two years).

3.  Peer-review of submitted articles for the journal, which are in your area of expertise (2 to 3 times per year).

雑誌への投稿、同僚への投稿の勧誘、査読（年に2−3篇）とありました。

査読はまあ責務でなくてもそれ以上やっているので良いとして、問題は１と２です。

第一志望で投稿してきた雑誌ではないので、規定されてもそれに合致する論文があるかは分かりませんし、査読で落とされる可能性もあります。

どうするか考え中ですし、先輩などにも聞いてみようと思います。

調べてみたら日本人の方も数名名を連ねているようです。

写真は近所のラグビー場。サマータイムが終わり、日没が早く感じます。どんよりとした長い冬がもうすぐ始まります。
